Adult Education Budget (AEB) & Funding
GEA is committed to making adult learning accessible and affordable. Many of our adult courses are eligible for government-funded places under the Adult Education Budget (AEB).
✅ What this means for learners:
If you're aged 19+ and meet funding criteria (e.g. unemployed, low income, no full Level 2),
you could receive your course fully funded – meaning you don’t pay tuition fees.We’ll guide you through the eligibility check and enrolment process.
You’ll need to provide ID and proof of circumstances (e.g. benefits letter, payslip).

To enrol in the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Esports at Genesis ESPORTS Academy, students typically need:
3 or more GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above
(Preferably including English or Maths)
OR
Completion of a Level 1 course in a related subject such as ICT, Media, Sport, or Business
AND
A genuine interest in esports, gaming, or digital media
A positive attitude toward teamwork, communication, and project-based learning
Basic digital skills (e.g. using a computer, creating presentations, navigating platforms like YouTube or Twitch)
Note:
Support will be provided for learners who need to improve their English and Maths or build confidence in digital tools.

Pearson BTEC Level 2 in Esports
📅 Duration:
1 year – Full-time study📘 Course Overview:
This hands-on course introduces learners to the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue a career or further study in the esports industry.
Topics covered include:Introduction to esports and the industry
Esports games, teams and tournaments
Streaming, shoutcasting and production
Digital marketing and branding
Planning and running events
Health, wellbeing, and fitness for esports performance
It provides a strong platform to progress to the Level 3 BTEC in Esports or related pathways in media, sport, IT, or business.
🎓 Entry Requirements
We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and learning journeys. The recommended entry criteria for the Level 2 Diploma in Esports are:
Ideally, 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English and/or Maths.
Applicants who do not meet these criteria may still be considered based on interview performance, enthusiasm, and commitment to the course.
Students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of their full-time study programme, in line with government regulations.

This qualification is equivalent to two A Levels and is designed to support learners who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills in the esports industry.
It includes a range of units covering:Esports business and events
Live-streamed broadcasting
Shoutcasting
Video production
Coaching
Health and wellbeing in esports
Ethical and legal considerations
The course blends practical, academic and career-focused learning, giving students the opportunity to progress into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment in digital, creative, and gaming sectors.

Or a relevant Level 2 qualification in a related subject (e.g. BTEC Level 2 Esports or Creative Media)
