Courses Offered

  • To enrol in the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Esports at Genesis ESPORTS Academy, students typically need:

    • 3 or more GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above
      (Preferably including English or Maths)

    OR

    • Completion of a Level 1 course in a related subject such as ICT, Media, Sport, or Business

    AND

    • A genuine interest in esports, gaming, or digital media

    • A positive attitude toward teamwork, communication, and project-based learning

    • Basic digital skills (e.g. using a computer, creating presentations, navigating platforms like YouTube or Twitch)

    Note:
    Support will be provided for learners who need to improve their English and Maths or build confidence in digital tools.

    This hands-on course introduces learners to the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue a career or further study in the esports industry.
    Topics covered include:

    • Introduction to esports and the industry

    • Esports games, teams and tournaments

    • Streaming, shoutcasting and production

    • Digital marketing and branding

    • Planning and running events

    • Health, wellbeing, and fitness for esports performance

    It provides a strong platform to progress to the Level 3 BTEC in Esports or related pathways in media, sport, IT, or business.

    We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and learning journeys. The recommended entry criteria for the Level 2 Diploma in Esports are:

    Ideally, 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English and/or Maths.

    Applicants who do not meet these criteria may still be considered based on interview performance, enthusiasm, and commitment to the course.

    Students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of their full-time study programme, in line with government regulations.

    This qualification is equivalent to two A Levels and is designed to support learners who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills in the esports industry.

    • Certificate: GEA Shoutcasting Basics

  • Edit gameplay, highlight reels, or promo clips like a pro. Learn visual storytelling, basic animation, and personal branding strategies.

    • Edit with DaVinci Resolve or Premiere

    • Add sound effects, music, transitions

    • Create intros, outros & thumbnails

    • Certificate: Digital Storytelling with GEA

  • Want to lead? Learn how to manage a team, plan tournaments, or run a full esports event from start to finish.
